Dynamics 365 Licensing Guide

There’s an updated (July 2021) Dynamics 365 Licensing Guide with 3 changes of note.

Firstly, Fraud Protection transactions can now be paid for on a consumption basis against an Azure Subscription – find the details on our blog here: https://bit.ly/3i5WCTw.

Secondly, there are some changes to Business Central capacity – find the details on our blog here: https://bit.ly/3i68DbO.

And finally, there’s some clarification added to the definition of the Average Order Value specifying that it’s the Gross Merchandise Value (total value of all transactions processed through Dynamics 365) divided by the total transaction volume.

Dynamics 365 Licensing Guide

There’s an updated (June 2021) Dynamics 365 Licensing Guide. The update is mainly a few clarifications/additions around security roles and default capacities, and “Call Intelligence” is rebranded to “Conversation Intelligence”. Dynamics 365 Licensing Brief

There’s a new (April 2021) Dynamics 365 Licensing Brief.

Its intent is to answer some questions, address some complex scenarios, and provide product information that may not exist in other documentation.

If you’ve got a reasonably good knowledge of Dynamics 365 licensing then it’s probably worth a read from start to end (it’s only 8 pages) to see if there’s any new information for you.

Dynamics 365 Licensing Guide

There’s an updated (May 2021) Dynamics 365 Licensing Guide. The first change of note is the amending of the term “entity” to “table” throughout, in line with the updating of some terminology in Dataverse – find details here: https://bit.ly/2Rls5WM. And the second change is the introduction of Electronic Invoicing transactions – see page 32. 100 transactions per tenant are included with Commerce, Finance, Project Operations, and Supply Chain Management licences, and there’s an Add-on available which adds an additional 1,000 transactions per month. Note that transactions do not roll over between months and customers must license for peak capacity.

There’s an updated (April 2021) Dynamics 365 Licensing Guide which has undergone an editorial review so there are some layout and language changes. It’s also updated for the new way that Tiers and overage capacity work in the Commerce solution, and for the new Cloud Scale Units available for Supply Chain Management.

The main changes are the renaming of the Common Data Service to Dataverse, and the addition of 2,000 Customer Voice responses to the entitlements for Customer Insights.
